A new online report suggests that WhatsApp is bringing a new reply feature. As per WABetaInfo report, WhatsApp is bringing a new reply bar feature to instantly reply to images, videos and GIFs.
The above feature is currently available for Android beta testers. Users will need to install update version 2.23.20.20 to access the feature.
The report suggests that after installing the latest WhatsApp beta for Android, a new reply bar is available when viewing pictures or videos in a conversation. If you want to check if the reply bar is available for your WhatsApp account, simply open any image, video or GIF and the reply bar should appear.
“The new reply bar allows users to quickly respond to specific media within a chat without dismissing the current screen, making it easier to maintain the flow of the conversation and not lose context of the shared content. Additionally, since the reply bar is also available when opening images, videos and GIFs within the media screen in the chat information section, we feel this feature significantly enhances the user experience by avoiding unnecessary interruptions,” in the report.
WhatsApp support for 18 smartphones ending on October 24
The popular messaging platform has announced that it will no longer provide services for select Android and iPhone devices starting next week. WhatsApp will stop supporting some older smartphone models from October 24, 2023.
“To keep up with the latest advancements in technology, we regularly shift our resources from supporting older operating systems to supporting the latest ones. If we stop supporting your operating system, you will be notified and reminded several times to upgrade your device to continue using WhatsApp. We will also regularly update this page to ensure that the latest Android version we support is listed here,” WhatsApp said.
