ChatGPT has received a major update that will make the AI chatbot even more useful. AI tools will soon be able to answer your questions in real time. The current setup allows ChatGPT to provide only the information it has acquired as of September 2021. AI chatbots currently lack the ability to provide solutions or answers in real time. However, OpenAI has now confirmed that ChatGPT will now be able to surf the internet. The feature is being rolled out to ChatGPIT Plus subscribers and even enterprise users, but the company has said that the feature will soon be used by non-subscribers as well.

“Browsing is available to Plus and Enterprise users today, and we’ll expand to all users soon. To enable, choose Browse with Bing in the selector under GPT-4,” OpenAI announced on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter. Currently, Bard and Microsoft Bing, the other two AI platforms, have access to real-time information. However, the Bard fabricates responses that are sometimes not true or accurate. While interacting with such chatbots, it is always better to cross check and verify before acting on the information provided by the chatbots.

On a related note, OpenAI announced that ChatGPT can now have voice conversations with its users. “We are starting to introduce new voice and image capabilities to ChatGPT. They provide a new, more intuitive interface by allowing you to have a voice conversation or show ChatGPT what you’re talking about, the company said in a blog post.

Imagine you’re traveling and you see an interesting landmark. Instead of just looking at it, you can take a photo and then start a live conversation with ChatGPT about why that historic site is so special. Similarly, when you get back home and are wondering what to cook for dinner, you can take pictures of the contents of your fridge and pantry. ChatGPT can help you figure out what dishes you can make with those ingredients. You can also ask follow-up questions to get step-by-step recipes, making cooking easier. If your child needs help with a math problem, you can take a picture of the problem, circle it, and ChatGPT will provide hints and explanations. To help both you and your child understand and solve the problem together. It’s like having a virtual tutor to help you with homework.
