It seems that the effect of retrenchment is affecting people in a big way, because even those who are skilled are not getting good jobs. Software developer Srinivas Rapolu, who was recently fired from HCL, is currently working as a driver for bike taxi aggregator Rapido, but he is not dejected and is very optimistic as he is earning a lot from the service. Got experience. Got success. Hope to get a better job using this.

The fired employee is now driving Rapido for a reason. The engineer believes that he can get job in java developer vacancies in Bangalore as he will get a chance to interact with people while driving. After losing his job in HCL due to retrenchment, he got a job as a driver in Rapido. During one of the rides, Rapolu met Lavnish Dheer, another techie, who shared the engineer’s story on Twitter and asked people if they could clue him in.

“My Rapido guy is a Java developer recently laid off from HCL and is running Rapido to get leads for any Java developer vacancies,” Dhir said on Twitter.

Describing their meeting as his “peak Bengaluru” moment, Dheer said, “I have his CV. DM me if you have any relevant opportunities.” He also clarified that “this is not a tweet gimmick,” and shared a link to Rapolu’s CV. In another tweet. The CV link shared by the person shows that the sacked engineer started working at HCL in September 2020 and lost his job sometime this month. It is impressive to see that he has grown so fast since his exit from HCL.

While people being laid off are being seriously affected, Generative AI technology is also eliminating jobs for humans. Eric Fein, 34, recently told The Washington Post that ChatGPT has replaced him as well, and he is no longer earning enough to support his family.

The content writer says that OpenAI’s ChatGPT killed his business and now he plans to transform the sector. He revealed that when he came to know that he used to write his content using ChatGPT, all his clients switched him to the AI service and hence, the clients thought, when they can get their work done using the Generative AI service So why waste money, On them?

The man claimed that earlier, half of his annual income that he used to earn has been lost almost overnight due to ChatGPT. Hence, he feels that the content writing field is not that promising and hence, he is currently training as a heating and air conditioning technician.
